And the presents were wrapped . .

Just a week until Christmas and I cant wait!  Now that I am all ready and waiting for anticipation until that day I will be fitting in all of the Holiday traditions.  Baking cookies . . Eating them. . Watching the classics like Miracle on 31st Street . . Going on drives to look at the best Christmas lights . . and spending time with family.

With the busyness that comes with Christmas I have not been doing a lot of projects. . but I do have a list started of some things I would like to do after!

I love to wrap presents and this year I loved using my large scrapbook letters to monogram the presents.  So easy!  Have you finished your wrapping?  Have a very Merry Christmas and I will see you in the New Year!

Happy Holidays

Simple Holiday Window Decor

Who says Christmas decor has to stay to the tree and hanging garland?  I don't! I put together some simple decorations for my dining room window. All I used was: Ornaments, Ribbon, and a Silver beaded strand.

It adds just a little sparkle when looking the window!  It will be perfect when we can see some snow as well!  We are now to just about 2 weeks until Christmas . . Make it a Merry one!
Enjoy!

Simple Tree Skirt

I have a brilliant DIY tree skirt idea to share with you today!  This project cost about $20.  all you need is about 6 yards of Tulle and Satin . . . That's it!!

Just scrunch up the tulle then add the satin on top until you've got the look you want!  So simple. . but I love the elegant look! You could even pinch and pin the fabric to make a scalloped look.  Enjoy!

Outdoor Pots

Christmas is in full swing now!  Here is another tip on your holiday decor!  I like to leave my pots out year around. . I find it hard to store them and they are so big to keep moving around.  So a simple and FREE . .yes free . .idea to make them fit in with your holiday decor is by adding tree branches.

I went to my local Christmas tree lot and asked for their broken tree branches . . I was given a whole load full for no cost at all.  If you can be a little picky it is best to pick up a variety of different type of tree branches.  Especially when it comes to filling the pot it nice to have some stiff branches and then some that can droop over the front.  Enjoy this tip . . . and bring your holiday decor Out side!

Enjoy!

A Sunday Treat

I found a jar at Wal-mart for just $7.  Here is how I transformed it into a Christmas Cookie jar:

I used the Metallic vinyl from janey-mac for the lettering.  Now this is a project that not only looks good but tastes good too!  Enjoy the recipe for these Soft Molasses Cookies, they are to die for:

Vintage Wood Sign

I often get on craigslist and just scan over various types of furniture to see what deals I can find.  I totally scored when I found a man selling a bunch of vintage molding and doors.  I picked up this wood trim for $1.

Here is what I came up to do with it :(yes another vinyl project!)

Tip: You can turn just about anything into a piece of artwork . . just add a little time and creativity!  Be aware of the good deals out there.

enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving! Christmas Wreath and Mantle

Happy Thanksgiving!
Just in case you did not see my post last month here is my thanksgiving table to inspire you this day:

Today was my favorite day of the year . . Putting up the Christmas Decorations! What made it the best this year is having my mom here to help! love moms . .  I will spend the next few weeks sharing in detail my Christmas creations.  But today I want to show you my Outdoor wreaths and Mantle.

I just love the way my wreaths turned out!  By grouping ornaments and ribbon in the center of the wreath it changes the traditional look of them!

I love glittery things, especially for Christmas.  I have used the Mercury type glass for my inspiration this season.  Adding in Silver, gold and White. I used the German glass glitter for the "JOY" project.  In addition to placing that on my mantel I have finials, stacked books with Partridges, and a beaded and fir garland.  I hope you get some inspiration from this!  Happy Holidays!

Christmas Banner

Here is another project done with the Old sheet music.  All I did was print "Peace" in the font Kunstler Script (dafont.com) on the sheet music.  I very lightly burnt the edges, punched holes and ran a ribbon through the sheets.  I did tape the back of the sheet music for extra strength before I hole punched them.

Get creative . . the possibilities are endless with this project! I thought about doing it for gifts this year . . Stay tuned for more Christmas decor from me! enjoy!

{Christmas Decor}

I am thrilled to share that I have now started decorating for Christmas (and have been listening to the music and watching the movies that go along with the season for weeks now) but we don't need to get into that.
The best day of the year is when I pull down the boxes filled with magic and start decorating for the Christmas Season.  I have had a smile on my face since that day!

I would like to share with you my first project for Christmas.  I will have more projects to come but stay tuned as I will put all of the projects together and show you my transformed home!

I love glitter when it comes to Christmas and this wall is full of Sparkle!  I just love it. Here is what you need to create this same look:

I started by arranging the music sheets on poster board then taping them in place. I traced the trees and then glued and glittered them. I used these handy Velcro hangers to apply the poster board to my wall:

I then started working on the "Merry Christmas" garland.  I hot glued the letters to the doilies, then attached them to a ribbon with metal clips.  I knotted the ribbon in between the letters to add texture. I also used the Velcro hangers to hang the garland on the wall. No holes! Then I added in snowflakes to make my new wall sing of Christmas!

enjoy!
