I am excited to show you the progress we have made on our bathrooms.  In part of getting ready for the baby, I wanted to give his bathroom a new look.  While we did that we decided to update some things in the other bathrooms.  Take a look:

The to do list:
-New Paint on walls-
-Paint vanity and add hardware-
-Marble Counter tops-
-Under-mount square sink-
-2 handle faucet-
-marble floors cut in 3x12 in-
-new accessories-
-new clear glass shades on light fixture-
-white subway back splash-
-Cut mirror down, add wood frame & mirror pivots-

The Floors:

Master Bathroom

Half bath light fixture

I hope this inspires you to freshen up your bathroom! From a little paint to a major overhaul I promise either one will make your day!  Let me know if you have any questions on any of the specifics of my project! I hope my little boy will love his bathroom as much as I do!

  1. Hi Brittney!

Do you mind sharing your paint color that you used on your cabinets?

And also, what material are the cabinets and what process you used to paint them?

    Thank you!!

  2. Heather yes of course! The cabinets were a wood but were painted white before as seen in the picture. All I did was rough them up with a little sanding and then painted them with Sherwin Williams Pro Classic paint (they recommended that for cabinets and trim). The color that I used was SW7017 Dorian Gray. I actually used a foam roller for application and did two coats. Spraying is always the best option if you have room for the mess of it :) Hope this helps!

    1. Yes of course! I got my faucet from home depot.com here is the web address http://www.homedepot.com/p/Glacier-Bay-Lyndhurst-Series-8-in-Widespread-2-Handle-High-Arc-Bathroom-Faucet-in-Heritage-Bronze-67277-8096H/203055089#.UZT30ZUTHzI
Although I am not seeing the brushed Nickel one that I bought. I paid about $130 for each faucet. A great deal!

  4. Can you share where you purchased your marble flooring? It looks lovely. Were you concerned with putting marble in a kids bathroom? I would love to do a floor like this in our hall/kids bath but I am concerned with it being too slippery and also with the boys missing the toilet and etch marks and yellow stains on the floor, as well as toothpaste etching on the vanity counter. Thoughts?

    1. Michele . . you know I have to say I am not too worried. As far as the slippery goes . . I chose a honed marble which will not get that slick when wet. Then for the urine and toothpaste I have to say that I am very clean so I would notice anything on the floor or countertop and just wipe clean. The name of the tile is Latoon White in a 3x12 size. I found it through a local tile company called Contempo. Of course there is going to be a little more careful maintenance with the natural stone, so you just have to weigh if looks are worth the extra work. I hope this helps!

  5. Is the grout on the flooring grey? Or white?

  6. How did you ensure your subfloor was sound enough for marble? My contractor is concerned with that. It's beautiful!

  7. Did you use satin or semi gloss on the Dorian gray cabinets?
