DIY: Fabric Matte

My husband made me this adorable picture frame!  I had the idea in my head and basically sketched it out on a high density board.  But because it intaled a lot of saw work he did most of it. Just to make this frame he used a table saw,scroll saw, Router and electric sander. So this gave me a perfect excuse to show you how to make a fabric frame.  It is way too easy . . but just incase I took step by step pictures:

Here is the frame. . I really wanted to go bright and bold but didn't end up liking the color. . so as you can see i toned it down a little bit :-)

And here is the final product!  A Perfect piece of art for my office!  Thanks a million to my talented husband!

{Pantry Organization}

I think I am just about done with my spring cleaning.  This week I chose to tackle my cluttered Pantry.  Take a look at the before and After's:

What a good feeling it is to have that done!  I got the organizing jars at ikea and placed a lot of my dry goods in them.  A Tip: for the things that need to be cooked I placed a piece of paper under the jar lid of the cooking directions. I got my baskets at Target.  I Painted the Back wall in coastal Jetty by Valspar found at Lowes.  Placed a 1.5 inch mdf trim on the front of my existing shelves to add room for the custom vinyl.  Had my vinyl printed by Janey Mac. I painted Masonite board with black board paint and used upholstery tacks to add detail.. I hung it on the back of my pantry door with extra hold wall tape. This new pantry kind of makes me excited to spend more time in the Kitchen.  We will see how long that lasts :-)

And Love. . .

I just freshened up my couch with some new pillows.  What a easy way to re-fall in love with a room!  I personally made some pillows with mixing in some store bought pillows . . A perfect way to create your own personal and unique couch!
You can find the flower tutorial that I made for my pillow here.
The fabric I chose for my other homemade pillow is called Riad and I found it at Kravet.com.
Combine your creative pillows along with store bought to create a one of a kind look!

Tip: Blanket Organizing

Organize your Blankets

I am still in spring cleaning mode . . And have an organizing tip for you!  I came across this room from Sarah Richardson and thought it was so clever!  She hung a towel bar in the bedroom.  It could be used to hold blankets (like as seen), other fresh linens, clothing and more!  I thought this idea would be great in a walk in closet as well to hang extra blankets on.  Here in Idaho our weather changes drastically so linens change often.  Enjoy the tip and send me your pictures if you create a Blanket Rack like this!
